March Community E-Bulletin
Good morning, ANC reps! The last few weeks have been busy weeks for My School DC as we closed Round 1 of the lottery. The deadline to apply for grades PK3-8 was Monday, March 2. We received over 20,000 applications in Round 1 this year for all grades (PK3-12), which amounts to more than 3,000 applications received in Round 1 last year. We want to give you a HUGE shout out for keeping your families informed throughout the lottery process. Thank you for all that you do!

But it’s not over. We have some key updates so please do read on.

Round 1 Lottery Results
Families can log in to their My School DC family accounts on Friday, March 27, 2015to access their lottery results. If they forget their username and / or password, please encourage them to call the My School DC Hotline at (202) 888-6336. We’re able to provide them with login assistance, as well as their lottery results.

Enrollment Deadline: May 1, 2015
Students who are matched through the lottery have until May 1, 2015 to enroll at their matched school. If they are not enrolled at their matched school by May 1, they will lose their seat at that school. A parent or legal guardian must enroll the student in person, at the school. They will need to prove DC residency, complete any additional paperwork required by the school, and submit a My School DC Enrollment Form (which the school will have on file).

Note: Enrolling at a school does not remove a student from any waitlist he or she is on.

New this year! If a student is on a school’s waitlist, families may log in to their family account for their waitlist status at any time. Waitlist updates made by any school will be reflected immediately when families log in. Additional guidance will be posted next week on MySchoolDC.org

Round 2 of the Lottery
If a student was not matched to a school in Round 1 of the lottery OR if a student missed the Round 1 deadlines to apply, they can apply in Round 2 of the lottery. Round 2 works the same way as Round 1. Applicants will be asked to rank their schools in order of preference. The deadline to apply for all grades (PK3-12) is May 8, 2015. Click HERE for access to Round 2 fliers and additional resources you can distribute to families.

We also encourage families to take the time and visit the schools they are considering applying to. There are still plenty of open houses taking place. Visit our Calendar of Events page for hours and locations.

My School DC Hotline
The My School DC Hotline is open Monday – Friday from 9AM to 5PM. Staff is on hand to answer questions, look up student IDs, provide login assistance, and help families apply. We are able to assist callers in multiple languages through bilingual staff and telephonic interpreters. Call us at (202) 888-6336. You can also email us at info@myschooldc.org.
